Facilitating Small groups’ workshop

Equipping leaders and members to be effective in their small group and bible study discussions.

Sis. Maricel Obiacoro was leading our workshop on how to facilitate small groups and bible study discussions. For many of our brothers and sisters this is a huge step forward and we all learned how we will improve with time. We all will receive a gift from God and serve in faith, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”, 1 Peter 4:10.

Several aspects were discussed in small groups and creative exercises were practiced to what is the facilitator role and how to lead your groups effectively. How can we as an facilitator lead great discussions in several topics and areas? One of the challenges we meet as a facilitator is how to ask good questions to keep the discussion and conversation going.

Not only as leaders and members in the church we end up with handling issues with group dynamics. This is a very common issue in your daily life either it is at home, at work or in other organizations. A Christian leader will meet these challenges with encouragement from God through His word. There’s no bigger motivator than God Himself. Let God be the one to inspire you to try your best. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58.
